Developing
Initiatives
NOTE: We are pleased to provide
information on these developing eye care and blindness prevention
initiatives that are seeking funding and that may be of interest to our
members and to Rotarians in general. Posting of these initiatives
does not entail an "endorsement or support" of the initiative OR the
product(s) being purchased through these initiatives by the Rotarian
Action Group for Blindness Prevention. The information is provided
herewith for information purposes only.
Policy on Endorsements
(December 2006)
The Rotarian Action Group for Blindness Prevention
shall not
"officially endorse, sponsor or support" any product, project or
initiative presented to the Action Group by an active member of the
Action Group or other Rotarian and shall not approve the use of the
Action Group Name and/or logo in conjunction with any such endeavor
in advertising, promotional material, or other documents (including
various media). These endeavors shall be posted on the Action Group
web site on either the "Projects Seeking Partners" page or the
"Developing Initiatives" page for interested individuals to pursue
on their own with a disclaimer on each page clearly stating that the
endeavor is not officially endorsed, sponsored or supported by the
Action Group and that the posting of the endeavor is for information
purposes only. (Adopted 12/13/06 by the Executive

- Rotarians Ophthalmoscope Initiative:
An initiative of the RC of Stevenage Grange and Rotary District 1260 and RIBI
for the Rotary Centennial. Objective: to purchase (through
donations) 25,000 pen-sized ophthalmoscopes for use in developing
countries in order to prevent blindness. Their web site
http://www.roisight.org contains complete information as well as providing a means of
contributing to the initiative. For additional information you
